Wouldn't you love to have someone understand why you did what you just did? Wouldn't you love to comprehend the rationale for your own actions? The Psalmist lends great comfort in telling us "He made their hearts, so He understands everything they do" Psalm 33:15.
The Apostle Paul lamented that the things he wanted to do, he found himself not doing and the things that he did not want to do, he found himself doing all the time. What a wretched and frustrating experience, but one that hits close to home for all of us. If not dealt with properly, those moments of frustration turn into prolonged periods of anger. Understanding often gives the leverage to change the things that are not God honoring and to add things that bring us peace and give Him glory.
So what is part of the answer?
(1) Knowing that He understands everything we do and He neither abandons nor condemns us.
(2) Resting in His entering the battlefield with us and in His offer of compassion with His insight.
(3) Appreciating the power of Holy Spirit who reads the rationale of our hearts and sends that message to God in prayer with "groanings that cannot be uttered."
(4) Listening for insights into God's comprehension.
(5) Acting on His insights and exercising His power to change frustrating behaviors into actions that are both God honoring and understandable to us.
He may be bringing insight right now through someone or something. He understands and He doesn't want to keep it a secret. Be watching today for His sharing of His insight and understanding so that you can experience freeing change.
Blessings, Bob
