The Joy of Resting

'There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;

for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work,

just as God did from His.

Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest.'

    1. You're a sweetheart, June! Thanks for popping in and checking in on me. Doses of antibiotics, lots of liquids and pure sunshine, kind prayers, light reading, lots of rest, and sweet comments all swirled together are a great healing stream!

      Stay well!

  3. I think the picture is very beautiful! I love it! How are you now? I hope spring has begun in your country. Here it was sunny the last few weeks. Warm for this time of year. That sun is so fine. I enjoy it. It reminds me of Jesus the Sun of Righteousness. That revives us and warms us.

    Good Sabbath

  7. What an illustration of "the rest," Linda. Your photo just seems to take me there. Thank you.

    Gentle warm breezes wafting through the windows this afternoon. A kind word from a sister of faith this morning, encouraging me that when my fears come, simply "back up to the Cross." Finding peace in little-big ways today...

  9. I wish our culture encouraged more real sabbath rest - but daily I search for peace and rest in Him. Your photo makes me want to go, just sit and soak surround by things of HIm!

    1. That's one thing for sure that our culture will never encourage! So much striving, so much activity, so much crazyness. It's no wonder we wear ourselves out. God knew what we needed when He prescribed this deep rest on a regular basis!

      Thanks for visiting this evening, Mary Leigh ... I hope you are well!

  12. There is absolutely nothing I cherish more than rest. It helps you to recharge and face your responsibilities with a smile. These days I think a lot of people have lost sight of the importance of rest.
