I'm taking the 5 Minute Challenge over at The Gypsy Mama today. And while I'm no writer, I'm a just a bit intrigued at this newly discovered weekly invite to write for 5 minutes flat on the assigned topic.

Perspective
ready, set, GO!
Perspective? What kind of perspective could I possibly have at 5:54 in the morning? I've rolled out of bed oh-so-early. I stumble down the stairs with Bible and journal and devotional book in hand. And I know I'm going to do this 5 minute challenge.
But who wakes up at 5:30 to write, to create, to do a post?
Someone with very limited perspective today. The sun peaks out. The birds are enjoying an early morning feast, singing their songs. They are alive and emerging. I am still sleep-deprived, foggy, and not quite sure what's going on.
So I'm thankful that the time I know I'm going to spend with you Lord is going to give me yet another viewpoint, another perspective of life and love from Your Word. You long to give me Your heart, Your mind, Your words, Your ways. I need to see all of life from where You're sitting. I'm filled with gratitude this morning that You've got the perspective I know I need and that You are eager to give it to me.
So sharpen my mind and heart as I open Your Word and pull out my pen and fill another page or 2 with our ...
STOP!
- Linda
yes, may He always light our way for the day with His perspective. even when we are foggy-brained :-)

ReplyDeleteBlack coffee anyone?
ReplyDeleteI'm more than sure that I've never written a blog post or a journal entry or anything else at this crazy hour of the day!
It's time to head back to bed ...
Thanks for dropping in!
You sounded very unfoggy with the beginnings of a very good and godly perspective!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your name which is my name my first thought was ... did I just write that and not even know it?
ReplyDeleteThis steaming cup of tea just might wake me up ...
Thanks for being a part of the gang who's snapping me out of my early morning stupor!
Hoping your prayers were answered this morning. And I usually write my posts at 5:30 in the morning!
ReplyDeleteEarly mornings are a new norm for me, so I get the early morning fog- Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletemmm ... not so sure about this whole rising before the sun deal .... but the best part of the challenge has been connecting with other bloggers from all over the place!
ReplyDeleteand why is no one else mentioning the oh-so-early time on the clock? am I the only one in a coma?
thanks for taking the time to say 'hi' and inspiring me by your early morning productivity!
smile!
ReplyDeletethanks for stopping by to visit today.
i'm thankful we can trust Him to teach us, even when we feel like we are in a fog, He sees o so clearly!
are you part of a challenge or something that you are up and writing so early?
It sure was unusual to hit the floor running {stumbling} before my husband rolled out of bed at 6am ... I was awake, so I got up and began the day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in from Niamey, Niger!
I'll take a little of that black coffee! ;) Great reminder to be filled by Him. I love to listen the the Lord before I'm fully awake. If I can manage to get up! I'm so much more compliant and less cynical then.
ReplyDeleteThe coffee beans are freshly ground and my husband has poured his first of many mugs for the day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us that those first sweet words that the Lover of our souls whispers in our awakening moments can be 'the best part of waking up' ...
If we weren't always in a hurry, we'd be able to glean more truth from His heart.
Blessings, Jessie!
Enjoyable post. A great take on perspective. Welcome to 5 Minute Friday. I've been doing it for several months and really enjoy it.
