'God doesn't come and go.
God lasts.
God lasts.
He's Creator of all you can see or imagine.
He doesn't get tired out, doesn't pause to catch His breath.
And He knows everything, inside and out.
He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don't get tired,
they walk and don't lag behind'
- Isaiah 40 {The Message}.
If only we all had as much energy as Melly!

That was just great to see Melanie enjoying what I used to do all of my growing-up days!!!! Of course, I was not allowed to wear shorts or slacks!!!! And, of course, that is one of my favorite verses - one that I even sing along with!!!

He is definitely my strength. Without Him, I would faint and wither away!
ReplyDeleteAmen ... 'He is my strength from day to day, without Him I would fall ...'
DeleteThanks, Anne, for bringing that old hymn to mind this evening.

I love Isaiah and just can't get enough of this book in the Bible.
ReplyDeleteAnd we've had alot of verses from Isaiah in recent weeks as I've read my way through it ... I do believe there'll be more to come, my friend!

I always love the way the Message Bible says things, although I must admit, I thought this was penned by you, Linda. :) It really reminds me of a recent practice I've been working on--finding verses that explain aspects of God's character or describe who He is and what He does. This fits nicely in that list! Thanks so much for the inspiration, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteI love sharing His Word. It speaks right to where we are ... powerfully!
DeleteI hope your weekend has been restful and rejuvenating, my friend.
Linda
Awesome childlike joy. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThese six grandchildren model exuberance and enthusiasm, joy and energy for me. God knows these old bones need a bit of shaking up now and then!
