"You pretend to have the inside track.
You shut God out and work behind the scenes,
Plotting the future as if you knew everything,
acting mysterious, never showing your hand.
You have everything backwards!
You treat the Potter as a lump of clay.
Does a book say to its author,
'He didn't write a word of me'?
Does a meal say to the woman who cooked it,
'she had nothing to do with this'?"
~ ~ Isaiah 29:15-16 {The Message} ~ ~
So many things are backwards in our world. If we would only do things God's way, things would not be so mixed up. So often, we have to learn this the hard way.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 6:33 reminds us to,
... seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
mmm ... yes, pain is often when we learn the hardest lessons, sadly ...

When I first started to read this, I thought it was a poem. And then I realized it was scripture. Then I looked and saw it was The Message Bible. I have several Bibles, I have to say, that nothing hits it as direct, powerful and amazingly "real" as the this Bible.
ReplyDeleteYes, Dina ... that Message hits home time and again!

Oh, this is fabulous! I can't tell you how many years I wasted trying to be the orchestrator! This is a lovely reminder of my place. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAh yes ... the 'orchestrator' role! Who hasn't tried that one on for size ... over and over! Appreciate your insight today, Carrie!
