Maybe the best days are the ordinary ones. The ones that don't come complete with to-do lists, breath-taking adventures, or grand schemes. Maybe the days that shape our souls, that give us strength, that bring us peace are the days where we simply embrace who we are by spending the hours indulging in the beauty of the ordinary tasks. Caring for the people we love and the things we possess. The hours we putter and fix and create and read and write and spend with the Lover of our
souls simply out of the lavish joy of doing so.
Those are the days when you simply get up, pull on your sweats, make a cup of tea, and do the next thing as it unfolds. You strive to impress or please no one but your Creator. And you celebrate life by simply living these extraordinary ordinary days well ...
Thank you for your post. I am having a put on my sweats kind of day and I know it's okay. Since losing my job, I have dedicated more time to taking care of my home and my family. I know this season isn't forever. I am attempting to enjoy it while I can without the worries of money. Some days are harder than others.

Be encouraged in this season of waiting, dear Sophia ...
ReplyDeleteI would love to live here daily. I guess we have to have a few adventures and mishaps, otherwise the ordinary wouldn't be so extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteWe must have been on the same wavelength about the five minute friday prompt. I enjoyed reading your post. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteYes Linda, you're right. Perhaps those are the best days of all!
ReplyDeleteBless you!

ReplyDeleteWell said. Most days are ordinary days, even if very busy. Just as our life is made up of our moments - let's make the most of each one and be grateful.
ReplyDeleteHow I love ordinary days, when we can just get up and enjoy each other with no particular place to be. Those are the best!
ReplyDeleteYes! Let's hear it for 'no particular place to be!'
ReplyDeleteI love the specialness of the not-so-special days.
ReplyDeleteD - I know you'd love to see more of those days ...
ReplyDeleteI would. Years worth of them.
ReplyDeleteAnd.... love the quilt! :-)
And you're not the only one! I can't begin to tell you how many people have enjoyed that masterpiece ...
