Absolutely huge in vitamins A and C and fiber, these crunchy little guys can be addictive. With no artificial colors, they're not particularly attractive. But they're so yummy you just won't care.
THE RECIPE
Tear one large bunch of kale leaves into 1" {more or less} pieces, eliminating the stem.
Place on 1 or 2 cookie sheets.
Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle liberally with garlic powder and sesame seeds.
Bake at 325 degrees for about 25 minutes, stirring often, til crisps are ... CRISP!
Makes 8 cups.
If you don't devour them all in one sitting, you might need to toss them in the oven again to re-crisp after storing.

Where did my sister go? Linda, remember when you used to think that Rice Krispie Treats were healthy? Remember eating raw brownie batter and raw cookie dough when we were kids? Where did that person go? I am all for eating roasted vegetables and I will admit that I have tried the roasted kale before, but since I am coming to stay with you next weekend, I hope I won't be finding kale as a snack food. Bring back my sister!

Did you know that there are 2 types of kale? Apparently, the flatter kale, known as lacinato, is sweeter than the one shown in the picture. I have made the kale chips and have really enjoyed them! I likesd that you added garlic powder and sesame seeds, Linda! Yum! I need to try your recipe. Thanks for posting this :)

DeleteI used to think kale was disgusting but have found a couple good ways to use it recently and kale chips was one. :) They don't look so great, but taste good and they're healthy. Yay!
