It's Friday morning, and it's time to step up to the plate once again with The Gypsy Mama and her topic of choice. So I'm hitting the keyboard 'with no editing, no overthinking, no backtracking!'
Because today's assignment is See.
Ready, set, GO!!!
I've stumbled down the stairs oh-so-quietly before the grandchildren awake. Because I know that when they see me, our day will begin! Full of life and love and energy, they will see to it that our day will be packed with adventure and exuberance and laughter.
They'll help my vision improve. Sharpen. Recalibrate. I will discover what makes life tick from their perspective.
For I will see tiny robin's eggs laying in the grass. A spider's web that sparkles with dew. The joy of a hose and a watering can in a tiny kiddie pool. A popsicle will take on a delicious new perspective. A banged up knee or a sore finger will require loving care.
Books will be read. Pizza will be eaten. We'll watch a movie, we'll head outside for a walk. There will be jokes to laugh at, homework to review, songs to sing.
I will see that yes, I can grow younger, instead of growing older.
STOP!
Linda
I love this! It made me smile, too, to think of the day ahead of you. And it was a wonderful reminder to stop and see things through my children's eyes today. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm heading upstairs to corral the troops! I hear the peals of laughter, lots of jumping up and down, the joy of awakening.
ReplyDeleteLet the party begin!
Thanks for starting the day with me, Wild Optimist!
What wonderful thoughts to have for embracing what will be seen in the day ahead. I need to share those optimistic thoughts for my day ahead! Thanks for your comment on my blog and making me smile today!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with the flow and enjoy the ride with these 4 little ones ... the time we have together is far too infrequent and I'm going to savor each zany second!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa, for joining the conversation!
Mmm. "I will see that yes, I can grow younger, instead of growing older." Oh yes, what a blessing to get our vision routed through fresh young eyes. Thanks for the blessing!
ReplyDeleteI do believe I'm feeling more energized by the second!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us today, Sylvia ...
I love this! Ha, I just saw that the Wild Optimist wrote the same thing. :o) It is true that children give us the permission to be children again.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Friday!
Thank you for visiting me!
Blessings!
Beth
Sometimes we need to roll up our sleeves, let down our hair, and experience life and love through the eyes of a little one once again ...
ReplyDelete'such is the kingdom of heaven' ...
Thanks for jumping in, Beth!
Beautiful, love how we learn to appreciate the beauty of every day from children!
ReplyDeleteChildren are such a blessing for so many reasons! This is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteRight about now I'm making cheese quesadillas and singing softly to myself ... trying to keep up with the energetic comings and goings!

Thanks, Eileen and Thereasa, for joining us today!
Nothing like a little child to improve our vision! Loved this.
ReplyDeleteIt's refreshing to look at life through young, unjaded eyes ...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Natasha!
