'It's who you are and the way you live that count before God.
Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth.
That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before Him in their worship.
God is sheer being itself - Spirit.
Those who worship Him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.'
John 4 {The Message}

This is beautiful. Thank you, Linda. I needed to hear this today. ox
ReplyDeleteHis words beckon us, they fill the void, they give us peace. Sabbath blessings, Yuko ...
DeleteI always enjoy the Message translation. Beautiful, Linda. Much love. xoxo
ReplyDeleteAnd I always enjoy seeing your smiling face and encouraging words in this place, my friend. I hope that this day sparkles for you ...

Hi Dear! Thank you for the video, the simple melody just oozes peace to me. And there is no shadow in him at all is there. He is all in all. And if we are truly with him, we can be that too. Isn't that an amazing thing to think about?
ReplyDeleteI pray we will all be ourselves before him. He made us, and he likes what he made...it's fun for him to see it!
Great to see you again my friend :)

I woke up yesterday with that song weaving its way through my heart and mind. I'm glad it spoke to you, too.
DeleteGlad you're back in the saddle, dear writer!

"Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth."
ReplyDeleteI noticed yesterday as I was singing in worship that I had disconnected. I'm thankful the Spirit gave me the nudge to get back into the true spirit of worship. Thanks for this reminder, too, Linda.
I love this song, too. It's been awhile since I've sung it so I'm singing it now....
Oh it's so easy to disconnect. The oddest things pop into our minds during these most sacred times. And then He pulls us back to Himself ...
DeleteAnd yes, Lisa ... I'm still singing that song a few days later. It's just not leaving me ...

The picture looked VERY familiar! Was that Tim on the rock? How did you manage a picture without a bunch of people in it? The rocks are always crowded when I'm there.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's him in a very rare moment of solitude that day. Where all the kids were right about then I have no idea!
DeleteThanks for introducing me to Bash Bish last year!

God is sheer being itself-Spirit-wow, I love these words and all that is implied in them. Knowing that we can be our true selves with God is so comforting and freeing. Happy Monday, friend!
ReplyDeleteYes, that He would love us anyway despite our sins ... a true miracle of great grace. I am glad you are here this evening, Mary ...
