People 101 : : Day 6 : : Radiant Bride

*  circa 1952  *

'I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God!  For He has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in the robe of righteousness.  I am like a bridegroom in His wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.

The Sovereign Lord will show His justice to the nations of the world.  Everyone will praise Him!  His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring, filled with young plants springing up everywhere.'
Isaiah 61:10 - 11 {NLT}

  1. We need to keep our garments bright and shining for our Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus. We are awaiting the wedding feast in the coming age to rejoice with Him forever. As Revelations 19:7-9 says: "Let us rejoice and exult, and let us give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And it was given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright and clean for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the saints." Today we must keep ourselves pure and blameless in this age as we are being prepared to be presented with all saints as the Bride of Christ. Beautiful thought that we have an eternity to spend with our beloved Bridegroom.

  3. Beautiful! :) I love this. I am really glad you stopped by today! I am going to add you to my 31 days list so I can stop by again. I love the earlier post about your Granddaughter and her best friend... that made me feel a little emotional too. "I am shy but He is Brave..." sniff.

  5. I love these family photographs of yours, Linda. This one, in particular, simply sings, especially as you've paired it with such radiant verses today! And it works the other direction, too -- the verses ringing fresh and deep alongside such a joyful picture of His marriage covenant.

    "His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring..." Oh! What a beautiful, wonderful promise and image that is. I'm so grateful for all the metaphors God uses to reach our hearts in such meaningful ways.

    Grace-wishes this Sunday eve...
