'My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress, I will never be shaken ...
Trust in Him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to Him,
for God is our refuge.'
- Psalm 62:1,2,8
I absolutely love this portion of scripture, and the photo. Thanks for linking up with The Weekend Brew!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're here, Barbie ...
DeleteDear Linda
ReplyDeleteI noticed how the Pslamist used the word "alone" twice! Yes, He and He alone is our life!
Blessings XX

We seem to need to be reminded over and over again for some sad reason, yes?
DeleteAmen! Indeed our refuge in a very broken world. We're the lucky ones - we hear His Word and can rejoice! Thanks so much for this tonight!
ReplyDeleteYes, Carrie ... and oh, how we each need that refuge!
DeleteIndeed He is our refuge! The peace of God be with you!
ReplyDeleteAnd also with you ...
Deleteand now I want to open the door to see what's inside...
ReplyDeletecuriousity always has its way with me
an empty little horse barn in Cincinnati, Ohio this is, dear weekend friend.
DeleteOne of the things I love about these blog link-ups is to see the variety and creativity of photos to go with the verses. This one - speaks of security, safety, the refuge behind closed doors to talk and love and laugh and cry. My soul finds rest in God alone. Oh yes! I would not think of a latched door as expressing the message of this verse, but it does so - beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely encouragement you are to me this Sabbath morn, Maureen. I thank you!
DeleteI have quoted the passage Psalm 62:5-8 probably more than any other. To myself and to others. How precious are His promises. The picture says it all. God bless you today.
ReplyDeleteFor sure, Cheri, we have to speak Scripture deep into our own hearts before we share it authentically with others. Thank you for stopping in this afternoon!
DeleteI saw your post on Incourage and came over to look at your blog. Love this verse. It really spoke to my heart this morning.
ReplyDeleteBe Blessed in the rest of your week!
Anonymous or not, I'm glad you're here today!

ReplyDeleteThanks for savoring His Word with us this afternoon!
DeleteWe are kept by an awesome God who is our eternal refuge. Hallelujah!
ReplyDeleteHallelujah indeed, Alison! Hallelujah indeed!

One of my favorite verses! Makes me just sort of slowly exhale and go AHHHHHHH.....and I love the door in this photo...where does it lead?
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kelly
That wonderful latch opens up a little horse barn, but no animals call it home anymore, sadly ...
DeleteI read these verses and thought of a song by an old group called Israel's Hope, a messianic Jewish group who only produced two albums, but every song was based on scripture.
ReplyDeleteOh, Elizabeth ... for more music based on His Word, soaking deep into the core of who we are, our thirsty souls
