The Valentine's Post

'So this is my prayer:

that your love will flourish
and that you will not only love much but well.

Learn to love appropriately.

You need to use your head and test your feelings
so that your love is sincere and intelligent,
not sentimental gush.

Live a lover's life, circumspect and exemplary,
 a life Jesus will be proud of:

bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all,
getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.'
~ Philippians 1 {The Message}

O God, You have taught us to keep all Your commandments
 by loving You and our neighbor:

Grant us the grace of Your Holy Spirit,
 that we may be devoted to You with our whole heart,

and united to one another with pure affection;

through Jesus Christ our Lord,
 who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.
~ The Book of Common Prayer

Love well.

  1. AWESOME Valenitne post. That is what I see lovin' on others is all about...."learn to love appropriately, sincerely and intelligently without sentimental gush." Love the MSG Bible. That translator has a way with words.

    1. Yeah, The Message knocks it out of the park with this one, doesn't he, Carol.

      God's Word - so powerful, no matter what version, translation. His love shines through the written word.

    1. To love well, to live well, to serve well ... what a calling He's given us. And what grace He shares so we can follow through with that call.

      I'm so grateful that we don't do this on our own. Where would we be without Jesus?

      He enables us to be the same.

Welcome to the table, friend!
