All Things New

'I am the Lord; that is My name!
I will not give My glory to another or My praise to idols.

See, the former things have taken place,
and new things I declare;
before they spring into being I announce them to you.'

Sing to the Lord a new song,
His praise from the ends of the earth,
you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it.
you islands, and all who live in them.
Isaiah 42:8-10

Dear Lord & Savior ~

Because of Your loving grace and sacrificial earthly journey, You have made all things new.  We praise You for the priceless salvation You have lavished on all who have called upon the name of Jesus Christ.

Yes, Emmanuel.  God with us.

As we quietly gaze into the wide open year that beckons, remind us to continue to prepare our hearts for You.  For who You are, for the transformation You desire in our souls, and the plans You want to accomplish through us to impact a broken world.

We are beyond grateful that that You hold us close to Your sacred heart ... and that You'll never let us go.  Keep a close watch on us, protect us from harm and danger and evil.  Thank You for Your amazing patience as You continue to grow and shape us to become more like Yourself.

Yes, Emmanuel.  God with us.

It's in Your Name we pray ~
Amen.

    1. Prepared, alert, and yearning! Not just for those weeks leading up to Christmas!

I'm glad you're here with us, Lisa. I so appreciate your presence in this little space.

May this coming year be filled to overflowing with His love for you.

    1. The amazing patience. I'm going to be going there this coming week. How I need that kind of grace in my own life ...

  3. Nice!

But I'm not looking quietly ahead. I going to bring the thunder, and fight my coming year at the loudest volume I possibly can.

It's new, but I still have to beat down the old serpent that wants to give me a heart of despair, and a soul of disillusion.

Let the demons bring the battle. I will bring the pain - especially for them.

'Cause if God's on my side, there isn't anyone backing the enemy, and I'm going to grease him.

This is the year that the devil loses, and he gets no quarter.

  7. Beautiful prayer! A new year, a new beginning, a chance to look at the world with fresh eyes guided by God. I read on another blog that we need to continue to carry the Advent mindset of preparing into the new year. We always need to take what we learned as we moved into Jesus' birth with us as a way to be vigilant, aware and ready for the new things that God has in store for us. Looking forward to this new year and new journey.

  9. Hi Linda! How fun to be here again. Well, not just fun, but peaceful. Your prayer just filled me with stillness. Ahh. I love that. I hope to look at the new year with the eyes of a child, and seated in the arms of my Father. May God lead me to every graced place he wants me to go. (That includes here.)
    Happy New Year my friend,

  10. You have a beautiful gift, friend. The way you pair scripture with your own words . . . just beautiful. I know typical for the new year probably, but I keep reflecting on how He makes all things news. I'm trying to put those thoughts in a post. May take a few days to figure it out. He's stretching me in mighty ways. He is good ALWAYS. Love you, friend. So very grateful to begin another year with YOU. xoxo

    1. That beautiful song just won't leave my heart ... it comes back in the oddest times. Just had to talk with God about it!

I'm looking forward to hearing your reflections in a few, Beth ... I hear you. Some / most writings take awhile to marinate and massage. We just want to hear Him speak first, don't we ...

      Happy New Year, friend!
