When Hope Comes in Fluorescent Blue

I was off to get my toes painted bright fluorescent eggshell blue this morning.  And this song came over the car's airwaves clean and bright and true.
It was just for me.
And then I knew, without a doubt, that it was meant to be shared.
With you.

'Cause I can't for the life of me think of one single soul that doesn't need at least a glimmer of hope.

And my mind fast forwarded 12 hours to the time the gang at Lisa-Jo's would share.  And I knew deep in my bones that the 300+ second word she'd gift us with would somehow fit like a hand in a glove.
Or feet in the uncut grass.
It's a song of confident hope.  For those darkest nights.  When you want to finish off your fear or dread or sadness.  Or whatever keeps you from focusing on who God truly is.
So up on those tired ol' feet, dear friend.
And raise your weary hands high.
Sing with me.

Dance with me.

Praise with me.

Pray with me.

'and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out
within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.'
Romans 5:5

    1. I was inspired by a trio of the tiniest eggs that I spied in a nest near the front door this week. And now that night has fallen, I see that these babies are just about glowing in the dark.

      Yikes!

Thanks for kicking off the conversation here tonight, Asheritah. It's so cool to see you again!

  2. I vote YES also for the toenails. I think toes are meant to be bright and bold. they do look like little robin eggs.

    1. I love bright summertime toes! Come to think of it, maybe it's not a bad idea in the winter, too ... except for the fuzzy socks that end up permanently attached to my feet!

    1. The song's just not leaving my heart. It's still playing all these hours later ...

I'm so happy to share it in this place, in this post. Sometimes we've just gotta make that choice to praise, no matter what's going on.

And that I will do! Thanks for celebrating the joy with me ...

    1. I hear you, my friend. Singing when the rain is lashing down isn't the easiest thing we've ever done, is it. But He stoops down to hear those heart-cries. And picks us up and carries us as we praise Him.

Praying for you even as we speak ...

      Hugs.

  12. K so little did you know your now apart of 'our' ministry! I was reading your post from last Saturday where you wrote about Matthew 11:25-30 in the Message. Those words hit me and I told my Cowboy you should use this. Well he is tomorrow. The funny or not so funny thing is I didn't write down or make a not of where I had read the post! (I'm always saying you should use this scripture or this song and sometimes he does.) But God knew where to direct me! I didn't even know which day I had read it! I didn't even know what scripture it was. Since every scripture I have ever memorized was in KJV. And, I read so many good devotionals and posted I didn't remember the subject! Thank you so much for sharing this message and these words in the Message. I know that God is using this ministry to bring his Grace to young men. Now your apart! Thank you for sharing His Word!
Praying of you hope you have a wonderfully blessed Sabbath!
    Hugs,
    Sherry

    1. I read your comment on the way home from church tonight, Sherry, and all I can do is thank God for the power of His Word going forth, no matter what the version or translation. That you have found something in this place that is worth sharing gives me cause for praise.

I'm with you. I was raised memorizing the KJV, and I am forever grateful for those passages are still embedded deep even after all these decades. They are the words I hear in the stillness of the night. But I am appreciating the more updated versions of Scripture, too, and find The Message speaking to me over and over.

Blessings to you, the Cowboy Man, and those young men you faithfully minister to ...

    1. I love the color palette of the rainbows He paints high in the sky. And I wouldn't be surprised if we see one around here in a few hours ...

And now I'm seeing this shade everywhere I look ... in my grandgirl's shirt, a dear friend's dress, the sky's sunset streaks ...

  14. The toenails look pretty, esp against the green grass :) The days when you lay your head against the pillow, free from sorrow or pain are the brightest and happiest. The finish to such days... brings on a happy tomorrow.

    1. Those first few moments of pillow time are almost always filled with gratitude ... for we have so much to be thankful for and so much to hope for as we lay our heads to rest. It can be the sweetest time of the day.

      All by His gracious hand.

I'm happy you're here today, Tanya. Welcome!
