Joy-Filled Benediction

'Always be joyful.

Never stop praying.

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.

Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said.

Hold on to what is good.

Stay away from every kind of evil.

Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way,
and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.

God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.'
~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24.

    1. Yes, let's hold tight to all that is good and lovely and excellent and praiseworthy. Let's think and talk and write about such things. And the God of peace will be with us.

Thanks for spending these final minutes of Saturday evening here, Lyli.

  3. God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
to me, that's the key - it's God who makes it happen - not me. not anyone. not striving. not stressing.
    that's living at REST ! living in God's GIFT of rest... {just like your wee bunny in the picture}

    Blessed Weekending , Linda !

    1. Oh, to let all our strivings cease. To get out of the way and let Him reign in all His glory! Yes, my friend, yes.

Welcome to Creekside! It's good to meet you tonight!

  4. This passage is so to the point, Linda. I know I often feel justified in any complaints I have, but clearly I'm out of "God's will" when I complain. Oh, and even more mysterious--we're to be thankful in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. I can swallow being thankful in God or in His redemption of my circumstances but there's a layer of faith here that I think I miss. There's a level of trust in God's goodness that embraces the bad circumstances with thankfulness. Thanks for this opportunity to meditate on God's good word, my friend!

    1. There's a fair amount of mystery packed into these verses, yes, Beth. I love that last verse for it gives us hope 'cause He's the faithful One, and He's going to be the one to take care of all those things which make no sense at all to us as we invite Him into those trecherous places.

You have showed us how to do that, Beth. Watching you navigate recent months has enlarged my own faith. Blessings, dear friend, as you continue to recover.

Welcome to the table, friend!

This is where we gather and hang out. I'd love for you to pull up a chair and jump right into the conversation. Or simply say 'hello.'

l'll be dropping in to visit you sometime soon ...

Linda
