Why am I a big Love & Respect fan?

'It was the end of a very long day, filled with back-to-back counseling sessions.  Before me sat a Christian couple, well-esteemed in their community and active in serving Christ.  And the things my ears were witnessing were enough to make my eyeballs pop out.

Venomous words.  Aimed to wound.  Kill.  Destroy.

Each well-aimed lob had it's desired, devastating effect.  Hardened faces reflected pain-filled, wounded hearts. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

"Oh God," I silently prayed.   "Enough already.  Where do I go from here? ..."

  2. Satan's prime target today---Christian marriages! Praying for my married brothers & sisters to NOT allow him even a toehold! It is a SAD SAD thing to see Him gain the victory! BUT how beautiful to see those who are doing it well--& with intent---of emulating Christ & his bride!

    1. You are wise in your observations, Lulu. But even more than that, I appreciate your gracious, supportive presence for your brothers and sisters in Christ and their marriages. May God bless you with grace and peace as you continue to move ahead ...

  3. Respect is something we as a couple are always mindful of -- there is a line you should not ever cross.

    1. Yep, I know ... but this is a HUGE issue for couples, sadly. I love Eggerich's work, and he keeps a sense of humor about his presentations which is cool. His book is fabulous and as a counselor (and wife), I really embrace his message.

Thanks for coming by this morning, my Nebraska friend!

  5. Conferences can be great. My wife and I were remarried a a Family Life conference...in Las Vegas!

It was kind of fun. At one of the seminars, the speaker made a disparaging remark about Catholics, so I stood up (while Barbara tried to disappear under her hat) and said (I'm making an effort to reproduce my accent as I have been told it's heard),

    "Sir, Ah'm Catholic.
    And Ah'm frem Texas.
    And you, sir, well,
y'all are about to meet Jesus."

    1. I'm with Barbara ... gotta love a big hat to hide under! And I'm sure that the speaker will remember that seminar for many years to come!

Welcome to the table, friend!
