Joseph was such an important part of God's plans for our salvation. He is so easily overlooked, but was so critical to the plan.Mary was a direct descendant of King David, but she was not of the lineage to inherit the throne. It is through Joseph that Jesus is heir to David's throne.Have a blessed Christmas!
Joseph has often seemed to take a back seat in this most sacred of stories, but upon reflection, he was, no doubt, a man of deep character and integrity. God chose Mary and him to parent our Savior. And that is awesome!Thanks for weighing in today, Joe ... and may you and your family have a blessed Christmas celebration!
This this is the second time I heard this song---the first was yesterday at FBC during a superb concert coordinated by Andrea. Love that song because of the realistic view from a stepfather's heart and the magnitude of the responsibility Joseph had to care for such an important baby!!!Thanks, Linda, for reminding me again of how loving Joseph must have been.
Be sure to catch THE MANLY SIDE OF CHRISTMAShttp://www.whitbyforum.com/2013/12/the-manly-side-of-christmas.htmlMarvelous, thought-provoking perspective!
Merry Christmas to you.
Sweet advent blessings to you and yours, Kim!
I took some time this afternoon to read some of the blogs I missed while I was away. The Step-father's Song was thought provoking and beautiful and the Norman Rockwell Christmas was extremely relevant. I'm glad you are back to blogging and continuing to write. It will be interesting to see where this continues to go.....
Welcome back! Thanks for taking the time to look at last month's posts and sending these sweet words of kindness. ;-}
Welcome to the table, friend! This is where we gather and hang out. I'd love for you to pull up a chair and jump right into the conversation. Or simply say 'hello.'l'll be dropping in to visit you sometime soon ...Linda
