2. I'm not on Facebook. Never have been. Probably never will. Please tell me I'm not the only one.
3. I've read 18 books so far this year. Favorites? Necessary Endings. Mary Todd Lincoln. The End of Your Life Book Club. Washed and Waiting.
4. Whoever invented the junk mail filter is a saint. I'm just not interested in questionable investing schemes, starting a career as a mystery shopper, making my first million in 53 days, or purchasing medical supplies from far across the sea. Don't call us. We'll call you.
5. It's never too late to be a newbie. Like jumping into Nancy's Random 5 Friday for the first time. 'Cause sometimes you've just gotta shake your blogging up just a wee bit ...
I haven't had near enough ice cream to celebrate National Ice Cream month! I had better get working! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Erin! That Blizzard's callin' my name ...
DeleteWelcome to the 5! It's a good thing it's National ice cream month ... I've eaten enough of it to celebrate! ;) It's also national hot dog month ... I admit to eating one on the 4th of July. I always enjoy seeing what other folks are reading.
ReplyDeleteHot dogs, too? Sounds like National Picnic Month!

I'm a newbie with the Random 5 too! "The End of your life book club" is one of the next ones on my to-read list - hopefully I'll be able to get it from the library soon.
ReplyDeleteYep ... I get much of what I want to read from my local library! LOVE it!
DeleteHi Linda...LOVE your sea glass collection...so pretty. I wonder how long it took you to amass all those pieces...
ReplyDeleteYAY! We all scream for ice cream!! At Longings End we celebrated Ice Cream Month by presenting the first ever Top Banana Award for the Ultimate Banana Split 2013...to a place up in Gloucester, MA. The story ran on the blog Thursday.
We had a lot of fun on our UBS Quest...and are starting up again. So, Linda, if you have any suggestions of really great ice cream places near or far, please leave a comment on my blog.
Thanks and hope to see you all soon. xxoo
Hey Friends - check out Sheila and Michael's blog ... one of the few I know of that are written by a husband/wife team! Click on her name to head right on over there!
DeleteAnd the sea glass? Been collecting for years every time I walk an ocean shore ... the best things in life truly are free!
And the ice cream? If you're ever near Red Hook, New York, you MUST go to HOLY COW for yummy frozen goodies.
Wish I could respond on your blog, but there's no place to click. Anyway, wanted to say "join the club". I, too, am not on Facebook and do not plan to ever be. I've learned to never say never, though. And I've found out the hard way that plans can change.

Looks like the blog was getting glitchy on you! So sorry that little red comment link wasn't showing up. Emailing comments works out well on this end, dear readers ... never hesitate!

I am on FB but I'd started when my son was in Iraq...so that he could see plenty of baby pics and videos of his son, my first grandson. How people keep up ( Blog Wise ) with FB, Twitter, Google + and whatever else is out there is beyond me, though! :)
ReplyDeleteEvery hour we say 'yes' to our screens, we say 'no' to our real life peoples ... good food for thought. I love that you stopped in today, Debra!

I'm on Facebook, but basically, it's to keep up with family and friends. I don't spend much time there any more. I said farewell to ice cream a couple years ago, when soft-serve frozen yogurt came to town. The scale is nicer to me now.
ReplyDeletemmm ... I wonder if I could make that switch from ice cream to frozen yogurt?! My scale would be delighted ...
DeleteI have a love/hate relationship with FB. But it's kinda my blog's alter ego and I feel a bit more free-er to be silly or more serious on there. Don't spend much time on it though.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in @ R5F. xo
'Alter ego' ... love the way you put that, Nance!
