He's Not Going Anywhere

Beloved.  That's who we are.  To our heavenly Father, the Lover of our souls.
This powerful truth can be oh-so-hard for us to grasp onto, to claim for ourselves in our loneliest hours.  It doesn't make sense when we've been loved and left.  Abused and betrayed.  Excluded and abandoned.  When all that we hoped for, all that we valued seems to be ripped away, again and again.
We just can't get our hands around the immensity of the extravagant love that is ours in Christ Jesus.  And that He never leaves, He doesn't forsake.
The fact of the matter is this - not for a single, solitary moment will the beloved Son abandon His beloved children.  He's staying put.  With us.  Within us.
Take great solace in this message today.

Five Minute Friday

  1. Amen! He keeps saying this to me over and over, through many means. Your words here are one of best-expressed of those means. Thanks, and God bless!

  2. Sylvia - I just knew that Lisa Jo was going to give a 5 Minute prompt today that would absolutely match the song God had laid on my heart yesterday morning!

Thank you for sharing your own heart with me, with us, at the beginning of yet another winter day ...

  3. Tuning into some "tunes" this evening, I happened upon this post. Can't get enough of this song! Letting its message sink in deep, taking "great solace" in it (as you wrote back in February) this very night.

Empty hands, open hearts . . . Perfect matches for Christ's "extravagant love."

    Thanks again,

    1. Yep, I've chosen about 67 beautiful tunes just for you since 2009! Songs that will bring the tears, some that will get your feet to dancing, others that will make you lift your hands in praise, and a few for the kids, many with really exceptional videos.

Thanks, A, for sending us in that direction. Enjoy!

  4. "Not for a moment..."

This is like a warm blanket today, Linda. Thank you.

When we hesitate to reach out, He holds us in His arms. When we can't seem to get unstuck, He carries us a thousand miles... All to show that He will never forsake us in our brokenness. Amen!

    God bless you,

Welcome to the table, friend!

This is where we gather and hang out. I'd love for you to pull up a chair and jump right into the conversation. Or simply say 'hello.'

l'll be dropping in to visit you sometime soon ...
