31 Days of Awesome Relationships : : Day 12 : : An Heirloom Left

'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith'
2 Timothy 4:7.

Sooner or later we're all going to be hanging up our running shoes.  We'll have crossed over that final finish line, somehow, somewhere.  We don't get to choose the time or the date or the circumstances. But one thing is certain.  We will leave some sort of heritage, a gift, an heirloom to those we leave behind.

So what's our legacy to be?  What will grace the hearts of those we've influenced when our image comes to mind?  Who will they be because they've watched us traveling through life?   How did we make a difference as they watched our feeble feet run the path that had been marked out?

She with the most toys won't win.  She with the most exquisite home or scads of online followers or best-filled closet or the most letters after her name won't shine brightest.  Her accumulations and successes won't matter at all.

It'll be the one who loved well.

  1. Simply beautiful. Such truth conveyed in your thoughts. I want to run my race well spent, reaching the world for the glory of the Lord. And in the end, I look forward to the those wonderful words, well done my good and faithful servant.
