How 'Bout All Those Shoes?

Stop for one minute, close your eyes, and imagine.  Imagine that you have no shoes.  Worse yet, that your child has nothing to protect their feet.

Now morph over to all those closets in your home.  Got some unused shoes or boots in decent condition taking up valuable space?

Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you and me. The charity distributes these shoes to people in need, regardless of race or religion. Since 2005, they have delivered over 16 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes. The shoes have been distributed to people in over 127 countries.

I first heard and wrote about this organization in honor of National Barefoot Week back in 2010.

Today's Poughkeepsie Journal featured a report of a local drive going on til January 25th, in honor of National Association of Professional Organizer's "Get Organized Month" of January.

CREEKSIDE WILL BE COLLECTING YOUR UNNEEDED SHOES UNTIL NEXT SATURDAY, JANUARY 21st ... we will deliver to the drop-off location!

Blog readers, friends, clients - What a profitable way to spend a mid-January hour, going through your closets and collecting footwear that have not seen the light of day recently!

Let's go!
Linda

P.S. #1  Please put a rubber band around each pair for ease of shipping and distribution.

P.S. #2  Would you be so kind as to spread the news of this drive via your Facebook page?

P.S. #3  Be sure and get your children involved in the joy of gifting!

*** JANUARY 23rd UPDATE!  85 pairs of big shoes, little shoes, and everything in between!  A special thanks to Journey of Hope Fellowship in Pawling ... and to all who braved the inclement weather to deliver your footwear to our doorstep!

Welcome to the table, friend!

This is where we gather and hang out. I'd love for you to pull up a chair and jump right into the conversation. Or simply say 'hello.'

l'll be dropping in to visit you sometime soon ...
