Fingernails Streaking Across a Blackboard

Don't you just cringe when you're going through a crisis and people try so hard to encourage you ... and they just end up saying the most hurtful things?

It hits your already battered soul like fingernails streaking across a blackboard.
You think, "Just slap me and get it over with."

Have you been in that boat of wanting to offer some word that will offer a bit of encouragement ... and end up saying nothing at all ... and your friend thinks you just don't care?

Be genuine and sensitive. Listen well. Don't throw up your hands and walk away when there doesn't seem to be a quick fix. Pray quietly but persistently.

And please don't offer unsolicited advice. They're already getting piles of that.

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity ... A man of knowledge uses words with restraint"
- Proverbs 17:17, 27.

Welcome to the table, friend!

This is where we gather and hang out. I'd love for you to pull up a chair and jump right into the conversation. Or simply say 'hello.'

l'll be dropping in to visit you sometime soon ...
